Nuance Hair Tint

Nuance Hair Tint

Salon-Grade Colour You Can Trust at Home

Nuance is a professional Italian-made hair colouring cream that delivers rich, even, true-to-tone colour, whether you're covering greys, refreshing your roots, going for a full colour change, or toning down to your perfect shade. Mixed with peroxide and applied with a brush, it gives you the kind of precise, lasting result you'd expect from a salon, with the control to do it on your own terms.

From full-head colour to a quick root touch-up to subtle toning, one tube does a lot.

How the Colour Works

The Nuance cream carries the colour pigment, and the peroxide volume you pair it with decides the result:
Lower volumes (5 and 10 Vol) are gentler and ideal for going darker, toning, or semi-permanent results.
Higher volume (20 Vol) is permanent, and is what you reach for when you want full grey coverage and vibrant, lasting colour.

Getting this pairing right is the whole game, which is why the guide below matters.

The Golden Rules

Read these before you mix anything.

Always strand test first. Do a strand test 24 to 48 hours before colouring, every time. It tells you how the colour will take and protects you from surprises.

Colour doesn't lift colour. Hair colour can't lighten hair that's already been coloured. If you want to go lighter, you'll need to bleach first, or see a professional hairdresser.

What You'll Need

Get everything laid out before you mix, once the cream and peroxide meet, the clock starts.

  • Nuance Tint (your chosen shade)

  • Peroxide (the right volume for your goal, see the guidelines below)

  • A colour bowl and colour brush

  • Gloves

  • Sectioning clips

  • A towel you don't mind staining

How to Use

1. Full Colour or Root Touch-Up

Mix ratio: 1:1 (for example, 50ml colour + 50ml peroxide).
Processing time: 45 minutes.
Choose your peroxide: Use 10 Vol to go darker, or 20 Vol for grey coverage and vibrant colour.

Application:  Section the hair and apply to the roots first.
For full colour: apply to the rest of the hair immediately after the roots.
For a root touch-up: apply to the roots only, then work the colour through the ends for the last 20 minutes.

Rinse:  Wait the full 45 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.

2. Toning

Mix ratio: 1:1.5 (for example, 10ml colour + 15ml peroxide).
Processing time: 5 to 20 minutes.
Choose your peroxide. Use a low volume, 5 Vol or 10 Vol.
Apply. Apply directly to damp hair.
Rinse. Watch closely. Rinse the moment you hit your perfect shade, toning moves fast.

Peroxide Guidelines

The peroxide volume you choose sets both the strength of the result and how long you leave it on.
Volume 5 is semi-permanent and the gentlest option. Leave it on for 45 to 60 minutes.
Volume 10 is also semi-permanent, with a shorter window of around 45 minutes.
Volume 20 is permanent, and the one to reach for when you want full grey coverage and lasting, vibrant colour. Leave it on for 35 to 45 minutes.

The Results

Nail the strand test, pair the right peroxide with the right goal, and you'll walk away with colour that looks like you spent the afternoon in a salon chair, rich, even, and exactly the shade you pictured. No guesswork, no patchy roots, no regret. Just colour you're proud to show off.

A quick note: Colour is a craft, and your result depends on your hair's history and condition. If you're unsure about any step, please consult a professional hairdresser or colourist before you begin, and never skip the strand and patch tests. This guide is for general guidance only.
